In the first photo you can see her hair starting to come back after being given medication for mange. In the second photo, you can see that her mouth is cut to the bone from a rubber bank, which the vet removed last night.

It took several hours and several darts to catch her at the university yesterday; she is so afraid. Today I visited her at the vet and this was the first time that she had ever been touched by a human, at least while conscious. She growled and tried to bite me at first but I pattern her on the neck and talked to her (she is a little bit familiar with me from feeding her at the university but I, or anyone, have never been able to touch her: she is really afraid. But finally she let me feed her by hand with some badly needed medicine in the food and was even able to put some salve on her body to help with the mange. I have always loved her, ever since she was a puppy when I first started to feed her.
A week ago I saw a red line on her nose but could not get close enough to make out what it was. Then a week later I looked at her and as you can see in the photo her nose had swollen to more than twice it’s size. I was VERY lucky to have a number recommended to me of a person that darts dogs. He came out to the university, and as I say after several darts and chasing her ALL OVER THE UNIVERSITY, we finally cornered her, tied her, put her in the car and got her to the vet last night.
Now I will visit her every day to feed her, give her the medicine she badly needs, and to put the salve on her skin.
